The S1 Sequential T56 GM Kit converts your standard GM T56 H-pattern gearbox into a true sequential shifter, offering lightning-fast and repeatable shifts even under demanding racing conditions. This kit is engineered as a direct bolt-on replacement, eliminating the need for internal gearbox modifications. The sequential operation ensures you get the right gear every time. The push/pull motion significantly enhances driver coordination under high-G loads, making accidental mis-shifts impossible and protecting your engine. It offers precise mechanical feedback, a mechanical reverse lockout for safety and ease of use, and the ability to select neutral between any gear. This specific shifter kit is designed exclusively for early GM Tremec and Borg-Warner T56 transmissions. It fits VT–VZ Holden Commodores (T56 only), 4th Gen Chevrolet Camaros/Pontiac Firebirds, and Holden Monaro/Pontiac GTO models. It is crucial to note that this version does NOT fit Ford or Dodge Viper T56 gearboxes, late-model VE/VF Commodores, 5th/6th Gen Camaros (a TR-6060 listing is available), or Tremec Magnum/Magnum F transmissions (a separate listing is available for these). Installation involves fitting the main shifter unit and shift knob, and while it fits the gearbox directly, you will likely need to trim your transmission tunnel for clearance. An optional Shifter Surround is recommended to seal this modification cleanly. The kit is offered with various shifter options and upgrades, including a Gear Position Sensor, Digital Gear Indicator, Shifter Surround, and different lever configurations (Offset Lever, Direct High Lever, High Linkage Lever), to customize the setup to your specific needs.
