The Tremec T56 Magnum TUET11009 is a high-performance 6-speed manual transmission engineered from TR-6060 architecture, offering enhanced strength and smooth shifting for GM LS, big-block, and small-block applications when paired with the correct bellhousing. This close-ratio version is optimized for performance driving, featuring a 2.66 first gear for strong launches and tightly spaced ratios (1.78, 1.30, 1.00) to keep the engine in its powerband. Designed for durability, the transmission handles up to 700 lb-ft of torque and features 4616 chromoly gears and shafts with increased face widths for superior strength. Modern OEM synchronizer technology, with triple cone units on gears 1-4 and double cone on gears 5-6 and reverse, ensures short, low-effort shift throws and precise engagement. The case is modified to prevent leaks under high stress, and redesigned shift forks address wear issues found in earlier T56 designs. The double overdrive design, with 0.80 fifth and 0.63 sixth gears, significantly lowers highway RPM, enhancing cruising comfort and fuel economy.
