The TREMEC T56 Magnum 6-Speed Transmission represents a significant evolution from the legendary T56, engineered from the TR-6060 architecture found in factory supercars. This aftermarket transmission is purpose-built for GM LS, big-block, and small-block applications, offering superior strength and shifting performance. This close-ratio variant (TUET11009) is optimized for high-performance street driving and road racing. It boasts a 2.66 first gear for powerful acceleration and tightly-spaced ratios (1.78 second, 1.30 third, 1:1 fourth) to keep the engine within its optimal powerband. The double overdrive design, with 0.80 in fifth and 0.63 in sixth gear, dramatically reduces highway RPM, enhancing both cruising comfort and fuel efficiency. Constructed with 4616 chromoly gears and shafts featuring increased face widths and two-piece laser-beam welded construction, this transmission is built to withstand high-stress conditions. It features modern OEM synchronizer technology, including triple cone units on gears 1-4 and double cone on 5-6 and reverse, ensuring short, low-effort shift throws with precise engagement even at high RPM. The redesigned shift forks and modified case address previous wear and leak issues. Key specifications include a 700 lb-ft torque capacity, 26-spline input shaft, 31-spline output shaft, and internal CSC (concentric slave cylinder) mounting provisions. The transmission also features a fully reversible TKO-style die-cast aluminum shifter with multiple mounting positions and built-in mid-shift provisions for convenient shifter relocation.
