T6061 Billet Aluminum Housing Double-Tongued Seal

The iABED Industries Billet Aluminum Rear Main Seal Upgrade offers a patented and permanent solution for leaking rear main seals, particularly on older water-cooled Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, and Skoda engines dating back to 1978. This performance-grade seal is constructed with a T6061 billet aluminum housing and incorporates a double-tongued, spring-loaded seal to ensure a leak-free operation. The kit includes the iABED VW827 rear main seal holder, an Elring spring-loaded rear main seal, and all necessary mounting hardware (two M6 x 1.0 x 40mm set screws and two M6 x 1.0 flanged nuts). This upgrade addresses common symptoms of crankshaft seal failure, such as oil leaks from the front or rear of the engine, a burning oil smell, or a check engine light due to oil pressure drops. By replacing the OEM seal with this robust billet aluminum assembly, iABED aims to eliminate the doubt of future leaks. It fits engines from 1978 up to 2009, as well as certain 2012 models with EA113 engines, and is also compatible with EA888.X, EA888.1, EA888.2, EA888.3, and EA888.4 1.8TSI/2.0TSI engines from 2009-2025. It is important to note that this seal is not compatible with the 2.8L V6 AHA and ATQ engines found in certain 1998-2000 Volkswagen Passat models, regardless of transmission or body style (sedan/wagon, automatic/manual, FWD/AWD).
