Tall Boy Billet Steel Main Caps

The Integrated Engineering Tall Boy Billet Steel Main Caps are designed to replace the factory cast main caps in select VW and Audi 4-cylinder engines, particularly when installing a crankshaft girdle kit. These caps are CNC machined from USA 4140 alloy steel, offering significantly increased rigidity to support high-horsepower builds and reduce main bearing wear. Installation of these main caps requires specialized machine work, including an align bore and hone, to ensure a precise fit with your specific block and girdle plate. The Tall Boy design intentionally sits higher than the stock pan rails and must be machined down to match the girdle plate. Additionally, stock main cap bolts or studs are not compatible; correct length main stud kits, such as ARP-CVA4 for 1.8T 20V 06A engines or ARP-CVA10 for 1.8T 20V 058 engines, are required and sold separately. These main caps are compatible with VW & Audi 1.8T 20V engines (06A & 058), VW & Audi 2.0T FSI engines (EA113 timing belt only), and pre-2006 VW 2.0L, 1.8T, G60, 16V, and 8V 4-cylinder engines. Importantly, they do not fit late 2006+ EA888 Gen1/2/3 timing chain engines.
