Talon Rear Brake Kit with DTC Slots

The Hawk LTS (Light Truck and SUV) compound is specifically formulated to dramatically improve stopping power and fade resistance, especially for heavily loaded vehicles or those used for moderate towing. It utilizes a Ferro-Carbon friction material that provides a strong initial bite, excellent fade resistance, and superior pad and rotor life compared to stock replacements, with an operating temperature range of 100-700°F. Hawk Talon Drilled & Slotted rotors are constructed from high-carbon iron and feature a proprietary DTC curved slot design inspired by racing technology. This design, combined with cross-drilling, optimizes thermal efficiency, improves heat dissipation, enhances wet braking performance, and contributes to reduced noise. The rotors are precision-machined and finished in North America, and coated with a black Magni barrier for superior corrosion resistance and to prevent galling during break-in. These rotors are built to OE specifications for direct fitment without modification. Proper installation procedures, including checking and potentially resurfacing existing discs and ensuring caliper freedom of movement, are crucial for optimal performance and safety. A specific bedding procedure for street compounds is also recommended to ensure the pads and rotors reach their peak effectiveness.
