The TCU 2.0 TurboLamik is an advanced controller engineered for ZF 8HP automatic transmissions, aimed at managing gearbox operation in sports vehicles and daily use. This unit enables precise adaptation of the transmission to the specific needs of any vehicle, achieving gear shifts in the range of 50–150 ms. It features customizable driving modes, including Street, Drag Racing, Race, and Off-road, with extensive personalization options for manual, automatic, and semi-automatic gear shifting, allowing characteristics from smooth to sporty. Key features for racing applications include a transbrake launch procedure and virtual clutch for optimal acceleration from a standstill. The TCU 2.0 also incorporates a diagnostics and safeguards system that monitors for errors and activates protection in case of drivetrain failure. Software updates are conveniently handled via the Internet. The controller supports a wide array of ECUs, including Ecumaster, Megasquirt, AEM, Motec M1, Holley EFI, and Syvecs, among others. Technical specifications include configurable analog inputs (A1–A12), supporting signals such as brake or clutch. It provides analog outputs (1–4) for speed, gear signal, or clutch, and 12 AUX outputs (0.5 A – 5 A) for functions like reverse lights or gearbox cooler fans.
