TDI to Ford 3.0L Vulcan Engine Transmission Adapter Plate Kit

The TD Conversions VW 1.9 2.0L TDI to Ford 3.0L Transmission Adapter Kit (TDC19-4503-K) enables the installation of any 4-cylinder Volkswagen/Audi engine, most commonly the VW TDI (ALH, BEW, BHW, CJAA), into vehicles originally equipped with a Ford 3.0L V6 (Vulcan) engine. This kit makes the back of the VW TDI engine physically resemble the original engine block, allowing any transmission that originally bolted to the Ford 3.0L V6 (Vulcan) to be used. Constructed from premium billet 6061 aluminum, the adapter plates undergo a tempering process for enhanced strength and toughness. The kit features a 2-inch thick adapter, moving the TDI engine forward to provide extra firewall clearance for components like the vacuum pump and coolant pipe, while keeping the transmission in its original position. A high-performance crank adapter, made from nitride case-hardened alloy steel, is rated for 800 ft-lbs of torque, ensuring durability in high-stress applications. Starter motor options include a compact and readily available Toyota 4.7 V8 Denso style 2.0kW starter or a PowerMaster 2.0kW custom starter, both of which can be clocked for optimal fitment. This adapter kit utilizes a two-plate system that allows the engine to be clocked at 0°, 10°, or 15° positions for fine-tuning engine clearances, with the transmission remaining stationary. Installation hardware for the bellhousing, crank adapter, and starter are included; however, flywheel/flexplate bolts are not supplied and OEM equivalent M10 x 1.0 x 23mm bolts should be used. This kit was specifically designed to replace the Ford 3.0L V6 (Vulcan) engine. It is compatible with Ford Ranger (1991-2011) and Mazda B3000 (1993-present) models equipped with the 3.0L V6 Vulcan engine. Compatible automatic transmissions include the 4R44E and 5R44E (with a 3.0L bellhousing), and compatible manual transmissions include the M50D-R1 and M50D-R1HD (with a 3.0L bellhousing).
