Thermal Bypass Valve

The Spelab Thermal Bypass Valve is designed as a direct, precision-engineered replacement for the stock unit, addressing common failure points such as leaks and sticking. By ensuring consistent circulation of transmission fluid through the cooler, this valve significantly enhances cooling efficiency and minimizes the risk of overheating, ultimately contributing to a longer transmission lifespan. Constructed from CNC-machined billet aluminum, the bypass valve offers superior durability and resistance to corrosion, making it an ideal upgrade for heavy-duty applications. The unit is designed for a quick and easy installation, typically taking around 10 minutes with basic hand tools, and replaces the factory thermal bypass valve to improve overall cooling system reliability. This bypass valve is specifically designed for 2013–2024 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 models equipped with the 6.7L Diesel engine and either the 68RFE or Aisin AS69RC transmissions. While it offers significant benefits in temperature regulation, it's important to note that removing the bypass function means fluid will flow through the cooler even during cold starts. This may result in slower warm-up times and potentially affect shifting performance in extremely cold climates. A small amount of transmission fluid may be lost during installation, and it is crucial to top off the fluid to the correct level afterward.
