Thermal Control Bypass Valve

The Superior STL009 Sure-Cool Thermal Control Bypass Valve is an upgrade for Ford 6R60, 6R75, and 6R80 transmissions manufactured between 2006 and 2016. This valve, made in the USA, addresses the limitations of the OEM wax pellet system, which can default to a cooler flow OFF state, leading to transmission overheating. Unlike the OEM system that requires a preheat cycle to engage cooler flow, the Sure-Cool system defaults to cooler flow ON. This ensures instant fill and air purge of the cooler and lines, allowing for accurate fluid level checks during initial start-up after repairs without a lengthy warm-up. This not only saves technician time but also allows installers to avoid handling hot transmissions. The STL009 maintains stable ATF operating temperatures around 160 degrees Fahrenheit under working conditions, extending fluid life and preventing over-temp malfunctions. It also features a crucial safety bypass. If cooler lines become blocked, the Sure-Cool system immediately reroutes flow directly into the lube circuits, maintaining essential lubrication to the transmission's components and preventing catastrophic failure.
