The BMW thermostat is a critical part of your vehicle's cooling system, controlling the flow of coolant to maintain optimal engine temperature. This thermostat assembly, with a 101°C rating, comes complete with the housing and a sealing o-ring for a direct replacement. It is an OE-quality part manufactured in Germany. Common symptoms of a failing thermostat include prolonged engine warm-up at highway speeds (if stuck open) or consistent overheating issues (if stuck closed), both of which can lead to poor performance and potential engine damage. Wahler, the manufacturer, is a leading OEM supplier of thermal solutions for various automotive brands, including BMW. When replacing your thermostat, it is recommended to also replace the coolant with Genuine BMW coolant mixed 50/50 with distilled water.
