THOR CI Cowl Intake Kit

The THOR CI (cowl intake/cowl induction) kit from Trailhead Off Road is engineered to draw air from the high-pressure zone at the base of the windshield, resulting in colder, denser air intake for your Jeep Cherokee or Comanche (XJ/MJ, 1991-2001). This innovative design not only enhances engine performance by providing a cooler air charge but also offers practical benefits. It clears valuable space within a cramped engine compartment, making room for additional accessories like batteries or air systems. Furthermore, it elevates the intake inlet substantially higher than the factory position, offering improved performance without the bulk of a traditional snorkel. The kit includes a high-flow, reusable air filter and a pre-filter to ensure cleaner air intake. The heat-shield design facilitates water drainage through both the factory drain and openings below the filter, preventing water from pooling in the intake or tube. This intake system is 50-state legal and includes a CARB EO decal. Note that Renix engines will require a throttle body adapter (sold separately) and a specific 3-inch elbow selection during checkout if an oversized throttle body is present. If the stock airbox elbow fits, an oversized elbow is not needed. Intake tubes are now supplied in a black powdercoat finish.
