The Flyin' Miata throttle body adaptor kit is engineered to streamline the process of installing a 1.8 engine into a 1.6 Miata. This essential component allows you to retain your original 1.6 throttle body and ECU while adapting it to a 1.8 intake manifold, whether it's a 1994-97 or 1999-05 model. The adaptor's thickness ensures clearance for all parts, eliminating the need to modify the throttle body itself. Installation requires drilling and tapping two holes in the manifold, and the kit includes all necessary fasteners for a straightforward process. This adaptor will position the throttle body approximately 11/16" (17mm) forward. Be aware that the 1.8 engine is also longer than the 1.6, and your existing intake may require modifications. Additionally, if you are using an NB intake manifold in conjunction with a 1.6 automatic TPS (which is thicker than the manual version), you may encounter interference issues between the TPS and the valve cover. Resolving this may require further modifications.
