This unit is crucial for controlling airflow to the 4.2L supercharged and 4.4L AJ V8 petrol engines. It functions by precisely positioning the throttle plate, a task managed by the drive motor in response to signals from the engine control unit. This ensures the correct air-fuel mixture for various operating conditions, from idle to full throttle. This matched throttle housing and drive motor assembly is built to provide the calibrated mechanical fit and electrical connections required by the engine management system.
