Show original supplier description
This IDIDIT steering column is specifically designed for the 1967 Chevrolet Nova, offering a direct fit without requiring modifications to the original vehicle. It installs in the same location as the factory column, allowing reuse of original under-dash mounts. For optimal installation, purchasing a new IDIDIT 1962-67 Nova Floor Mount is recommended. The column supports both manual and automatic transmissions. It features tilt steering and a natural paintable steel finish, allowing for customization. With an adapter, an aftermarket steering wheel can be added, maintaining the stock wheel's gripping surface position. For those wishing to retrofit the original steering wheel, IDIDIT provides information upon request. Technical specifications include a length of 28.75 inches, a 2-inch tube diameter, and a 3/4" 36 Spline output shaft. It is a retrofit type, designed for floor shift vehicles, and includes 4-way flashers and wiring for a horn, utilizing a GM 3 7/8" turn signal switch. The column is non-collapsible and does not include an ignition or neutral safety switch. The approximate weight is 14.1 lbs, and dimensions are W8.0000” x H6.0000” x L44.0000”. Installation is straightforward due to its direct-fit design, although a new floor mount is recommended. The process may require basic hand tools. There are no specific factory parts to reuse beyond the under-dash mounts, and no common pitfalls are noted other than ensuring compatibility with your existing steering wheel or acquiring an adapter for aftermarket options. This steering column is compatible with all trims and engines of the 1967 Chevrolet Nova, supporting both manual and automatic transmissions. It is important to note that while it provides a modern upgrade, it is specifically for the classic Nova model year indicated and is not a universal fitment for other vehicles. IDIDIT provides a limited lifetime warranty for this product, reflecting its commitment to quality and durability. This column is ideal for enthusiasts looking to enhance their classic Nova's driving experience with modern tilt functionality while maintaining a period-appropriate aesthetic.
