It provides the essential components for a critical engine maintenance task. ContiTech, a brand of Continental, is known for producing timing belts manufactured in Germany, adhering to stringent quality standards. This kit is backed by a 2-year or 24,000-mile warranty, offering peace of mind for its durability and performance. Proper installation of a timing belt is crucial, as the M20 engine is an interference type. A failure in the timing belt system can lead to significant internal engine damage, including valves contacting pistons. It is recommended to replace the timing belt every 60,000 miles or four years, whichever comes first, or as specified in your vehicle's manual.
