The DEI Titanium exhaust wrap is a 1-inch by 50-foot roll constructed from pulverized lava rock that has been stranded into a fiber material and woven into a proprietary diagonal weave. Its pliable nature allows for easy installation around tight bends, ensuring a snug and secure fit without requiring pre-wetting. The wrap is resistant to chemical oil spills and vibration breakdown, making it suitable for demanding applications. This exhaust wrap can withstand direct heat up to 1800°F and intermittent heat up to 2500°F, contributing to improved performance by promoting increased exhaust flow and reducing underhood temperatures. It also helps to mitigate temperature and vibration breakdown. The wrap features a hi-tech carbon fiber look and does not require DEI HT Silicone Coating or pre-wetting for installation, simplifying the process for DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike. Therefore, it is advised to avoid wrapping any flex-pipes or flex-joints. Additionally, wrapping catalytic converters is not recommended due to potential overheating and reduced lifespan; alternative solutions like DEI's Floor & Tunnel Shield II are suggested. DEI also explicitly advises against wrapping exhaust systems made of titanium, as the material's properties can lead to brittleness and cracking when wrapped. For titanium exhaust systems, DEI recommends using flexible heat shields instead.
