Developed from a unique material sourced from lava rock, this proprietary weave offers enhanced durability and pliability, ensuring a universal fit for both straight and angled spark plug boots. Its inherent resistance to heat, chemicals, and abrasions allows it to withstand temperatures up to 1800°F (983°C) of direct heat, preventing common issues like hardening, cracking, and arcing in spark plug wires and boots. This protection is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the ignition system, preventing engine misfires and potential ignition system failure. The boots boast a double-wall construction for superior durability and feature a reinforcement ring at the base, simplifying maintenance by allowing for easy plug removal. They also offer a distinct carbon fiber appearance, adding an aesthetic upgrade for race, street, or show vehicles. This pack includes eight 6-inch Titanium Protect-A-Boots. For applications with tight bends, the 8-inch Titanium Protect-A-Boot XL Ringless is available. For thicker boots, such as those from MSD or Taylor, DEI recommends their Protect-A-Boot Ringless Sleeves, which feature a 1.25-inch diameter for straightforward installation. The material is non-flammable and resists water and chemicals, further enhancing its protective qualities.
