Description

The TREMEC TKO 500 is a 5-speed manual transmission engineered for GM vehicles, offering a robust upgrade for drivetrain performance. This unit boasts a significant torque capacity of up to 600 lb-ft, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including those with GM V8 engines. Constructed with durability in mind, the TKO 500 features a 3.27:1 first gear ratio, with additional ratios including 1.98:1, 1.34:1, and a 1.00:1 direct drive fourth gear. Its design includes a higher center distance of 83 mm between the main and counter shafts and a 26-spline count. Despite its heavy-duty construction, the transmission is remarkably light, weighing just 99 lbs dry. The TREMEC TKO 500 is designed to work with both manual and hydraulic clutch systems. It utilizes a GM speedo type and shares the same transmission bolt pattern as the classic Muncie four-speed transmissions, facilitating easier integration.
