Description

The Lokar TM727GXMP is a shifter for Chrysler 727 transmissions. It features a black 16" bench bend lever with a mushroom polished knob. The Chrysler 727 TorqueFlite (also known as A727, 36RH, 37RH) is a heavy-duty three-speed automatic transmission. Key characteristics to note for compatibility include:

* **Case Material:** 1956-1961 (cast-iron), 1962-late 1980s (aluminum).
* **Shift Mechanism:** 1962-1964 (pushbutton), 1965 (some cable, most rod-style), 1966 onwards (rod-style).
* **Driveshaft Attachment:** 1962-1965 (rear flange for 'pot-type' U-joint), 1966 onwards (standard splined shaft for slip yoke).
* **Flexplate:** Pre-1968 (smaller center hole), 1968 and newer (larger center hole).
* **Torque Converter:** Pre-1966 (specific), 1966 and newer (not interchangeable with older), Pre-1978 non-lockup (weighted A, B, C, not interchangeable), 1978 and newer (lock-up).
* **Bell Housing Bolt Patterns:** Small-block V8s (18-inch pattern), Big-block V8s (18.875-inch pattern).
