The Tomioka Racing TD05-20G turbocharger is engineered as a direct bolt-on upgrade for the Subaru EJ platform, specifically for 2002-2007 Subaru WRX (EJ20/EJ255) and 2004-2021 Subaru WRX STI (EJ207/EJ257) models with manual transmissions. This unit utilizes a journal bearing construction and features a standard Subaru 5-bolt flange, ensuring compatibility with factory mounting points. The TD05-20G is a popular choice for enthusiasts seeking a balance between performance and daily drivability. Its 52.5 mm inducer compressor wheel offers significantly more airflow capacity than smaller TD05 variants, contributing to its 450 HP maximum power rating. The turbine features a 56 mm inlet and 49.2 mm exducer with an 8 cm² housing, and the included wastegate actuator is set to 1.1 bar (16 psi). Each Tomioka Racing turbocharger kit is comprehensive, including the turbocharger unit, a billet wastegate actuator, oil feed and return pipes, water cooling connections, all necessary gaskets, and a hardware kit. Professional installation is recommended due to the need for careful routing of oil and water lines, as well as boost line setup. For DCBB (Direct Coupled Bearing Design) turbos, a Turbosmart TS-0811-0012 OPR V2 Turbo Oil Pressure Regulator may be recommended to ensure proper oil pressure at the bearing.
