The Mishimoto Top-Mount Intercooler is engineered as a direct-fit solution for the 2008-2014 Subaru WRX, addressing the heat soak and potential failure issues of the stock plastic end tanks, especially above 18 psi. Featuring a 3.75-inch core and a total volume of 584 cubic inches, this intercooler is built to optimize heat transfer and support vehicles from stock power levels up to 400 whp. Rigorous testing has shown a 12°F temperature drop and a bolt-on power increase of +6 whp and +8 wtq for a stock test vehicle. The core design provides a 37.9-percent greater internal flow area compared to the stock unit. Installation is straightforward and can typically be completed in under 30 minutes without requiring any modifications to the engine bay. The kit includes a new turbo-to-intercooler O-ring gasket and a Mishimoto silicone throttle body coupler, negating the need to source additional parts.
