The GrimmSpeed Top Mount Intercooler Kit is a high-performance cooling solution engineered to maintain consistent air density and reduce pre-detonation for 2008-2014 Subaru WRX vehicles. By replacing the stock intercooler, this kit effectively resists heat soak during high-boost or aggressive driving, providing more reliable performance compared to the OEM unit. Technically, the kit utilizes a 17.5in x 8.7in x 3.5in cross-flow core that optimizes the trade-off between heat transfer surface area and pressure drop. Construction includes cast aluminum end tanks with a precision-machined BPV flange, stainless steel studs for durability, and 5-ply reinforced silicone couplers. The included wide-mouth splitter ensures optimal airflow collection across the entire width of the hood scoop, while the vibration isolation mounting system protects the assembly from fatigue. Designed as a bolt-on upgrade, this kit arrives cleaned, inspected, and sealed to prevent internal contamination. The splitters are laser-cut and powder-coated with a durable texture black finish.
