Description

The GrimmSpeed Top Mount Intercooler Kit is engineered to provide maximum cooling efficiency and minimal restriction for the 2008-2014 Subaru WRX. As boost pressure increases, air temperature rises; this intercooler effectively removes heat, creating denser air that helps eliminate pre-detonation and allows for increased engine output. The OEM intercooler is adequate for stock boost levels but can suffer from heat soak under higher demands. Key specifications include a 17.5in x 8.7in x 3.5in Cross Flow Core, designed to balance high heat transfer with a low pressure drop. The end tanks are crafted from cast aluminum with a machined BPV flange for a precise seal. For durability and performance in demanding conditions, it utilizes 5-ply silicone couplers. The wide-mouth splitter efficiently collects air from the entire width of the scoop, and vibration isolation mounting protects the system from fatigue. Stainless steel BPV studs are included to prevent damage to fragile aluminum threads. GrimmSpeed ensures the intercooler is cleaned, inspected, and sealed prior to shipping, preventing any foreign matter from potentially damaging the engine. Installation instructions are available via a YouTube video, and the kit is designed to fit the 2008-2014 Subaru WRX models, and also compatible with 2005-2009 Subaru Legacy GT.
