Description

The Steeda Torque Box Reinforcement Kit is designed to bolster the structural integrity of your 1979-2004 Ford Mustang's rear end. Torque boxes, where upper and lower control arms connect to the chassis, are susceptible to fatigue and cracking, especially with increased V8 power and torque demands, which can negatively impact driveline performance and handling in racing scenarios. This kit provides upper and lower reinforcement plates, constructed from robust 11-gauge steel, to enhance the strength and durability of the stock torque boxes. While the plates can be bolted in, welding them is recommended for achieving maximum reinforcement. All necessary mounting brackets and hardware are included for installation. An important note regarding fitment: the upper reinforcements in this kit will not work with factory convertible chassis braces. The application is for 1979-2004 Ford Mustangs, aiming to stiffen the rear end and increase overall traction.
