The Texas Speed & Performance Torquer V4 camshaft is engineered for LS-Based GM engines from 1997-2013, including 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, and 6.2L displacements. With specifications of 231/234 duration, .629"/.615" lift, and a 111 LSA, this camshaft is designed to deliver increased peak power and improved low-end response compared to the Torquer V2. It provides an aggressive idle note while maintaining piston-to-valve clearance, making it suitable for a range of applications. For optimal performance in automatic transmissions, a stall converter of at least 3000 RPM (or 3200 RPM recommended by some sources) is advised. Tuning is mandatory for both automatic and manual applications to ensure proper drivability. Manual transmissions may exhibit slight bucking or surging, which can be managed with a proper tune. This camshaft is best suited for engines with Cathedral Heads, specifically LS1, LS2, and LS6 models, and is compatible with stock, untouched cylinder heads. It requires a quality double valve spring kit, such as the PAC .660" double spring kits. If your engine was originally equipped with a 1-bolt camshaft, a 3-bolt conversion kit will be necessary. DOD/AFM and VVT engines will also require appropriate delete kits.
