Track Attack LT 427 Camshaft

Katech has leveraged 45 years of racing industry experience to develop the Track Attack LT 427 Camshaft for Gen 5 LT engines. Their approach involves analyzing valve motion in real-time using Optron spin cell technology, a technique few in the industry can claim and one Katech pioneered. This meticulous process ensures a durable valvetrain, with a track record of zero failures due to insufficient design, stemming from their involvement in the C5-R race program. The Track Attack 427 camshaft is engineered for high performance, specifically optimized for engines with 12.5:1 or higher compression ratios when paired with an MSD Atomic intake manifold. It is designed to deliver maximum horsepower and torque while maintaining adequate hood clearance for C7 Corvette and Gen 6 Camaro applications. The specific camshaft specifications include: 242/258 duration at .050 lift, .648 lift on the intake and .639 lift on the exhaust, a 113+2.5 LSA, and a 32% fuel lobe. Installation of this camshaft requires aftermarket pistons with larger valve reliefs. Katech also suggests specific valvetrain components for optimal performance and durability, including PSI1516 or PSI1512 Valve Springs, Katech/Johnson 2116LSR Lifters, Katech Locators, and Katech Tool Steel or Titanium Retainers. Note that fuel pump preload should be checked on all engines, particularly LT2 applications.
