The TransGo SK-4T65E Shift Kit is a valve body repair kit engineered to address common automatic transmission driveability complaints and failures. This kit is intended for normal everyday use and light-duty towing. The SK-4T65E specifically targets issues within 4T65E transmissions from 1997 onwards, including those with TipTronic functionality. It aims to correct, prevent, or reduce problems such as diagnostic trouble codes P1811, P0741, and P0894, as well as symptoms like long or hard shifts, chatter during acceleration, and the absence of 4th gear or torque converter lock-up. Key features of this shift kit include a new pressure regulator spring to ensure stable pressure, accumulator springs and spacers to shorten shifts without roughness, and a replacement boost valve to address wear. The kit corrects common shift complaints by shortening shifts and is considered a definitive fix by many shops for the issues plaguing the 4T65E transmission. It is important to note that while this kit works with TipTronic units, it may not function with the boost function of certain TipTronic systems. Installation does not require transmission removal. The kit includes seven accumulator springs, three accumulator spacers, and a pressure regulator upgrade. For optimal performance, pairing these valve body upgrades with a new pressure solenoid (sold separately) is recommended to ensure the transmission operates correctly and reliably for an extended period.
