The HGM Automotive Electronics COMPUSHIFT Sport is the next generation of standalone electronic control for the GM 4L80E transmission, including the 4L85E variant. Designed and manufactured in the USA, this controller offers full command over shifts, torque converter behavior, and lock-up, making it suitable for street cars, restomods, 4x4s, tow vehicles, and high-horsepower setups. Setup and tuning are made easy with built-in Bluetooth wireless connectivity, allowing adjustments via an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. While a laptop isn't required for initial setup, it can be connected for system software updates and advanced tuning via USB or wireless. The system comes with versatile, pre-set factory calibrations for various transmission and engine combinations. Throttle position measurement, crucial for shift timing, can be integrated from an existing fuel injection system signal or a separate throttle position sensor for carbureted or mechanical injection diesel engines. Dual CAN buses facilitate communication with existing engine management or body control computers, and a MAP sensor input is available for turbocharged applications. The COMPUSHIFT Sport kit includes all necessary cable harnesses and a throttle position sensor (TPS) package. It supports a wide range of transmission types and manufacturers and can connect directly to many CAN Bus engine management systems, including popular brands like AEM, ECUMaster, Edelbrock, Haltech, and Holley. The controller features adjustable shift speeds, feel, and torque converter clutch control, with the ability to configure two different calibrations (e.g., automatic/manual, tow/haul) controlled via the app or an optional switch. It also offers paddle shift compatibility and lock-up switch support for enhanced control and fuel savings during towing or in 4x4 applications.
