This system features a bar and plate style oil cooler with -10AN fittings and lines for optimal flow. It also includes CNC billet aluminum end tanks for increased strength and capacity.

The product aims to resolve OEM shortcomings where transmission oil is cooled by the same system as the intercooler fluid. By divorcing the transmission oil and routing it to its own dedicated radiator, it results in colder transmission and intake temperatures, especially beneficial during spirited driving or at stock power levels. The system reuses the factory oil thermostat, with an optional modified always-open thermostat available for lower transmission temperatures.

The ModalWorks Transmission Split Cooling System is engineered to enhance the cooling efficiency for the transmissions of select Mercedes-Benz C63 and C43 models. This aftermarket upgrade addresses the OEM design where transmission fluid shares cooling capacity with intercooler fluid, a configuration that can lead to heat soak and reduced performance, particularly under demanding driving conditions. By isolating the transmission oil and directing it to a dedicated radiator, this system ensures optimal temperatures for both the transmission and intake air. Constructed with durability and performance in mind, the system utilizes a bar and plate style oil cooler, known for its increased strength and cooling capacity. It features CNC machined billet aluminum end tanks and -10AN fittings and lines, which facilitate excellent fluid flow. The core dimensions measure 575mm x 140mm x 42mm. For enthusiasts seeking the absolute lowest possible transmission temperatures, ModalWorks also offers an optional modified thermostat that remains open 100% of the time. The kit includes the bar and plate oil cooler, a billet aluminum fluid divorcer with -10AN fittings, two -10AN braided fluid lines, cooler mounting brackets and hardware, and horn relocation brackets.
