The GForce RCG-400 is a bolt-on transmission crossmember engineered for 1984-1988 GM G-Body vehicles, including models like the Chevrolet Malibu, Monte Carlo, El Camino, Cutlass, Grand Prix, Regal, Century, LeMans, Caballero, and Bonneville. Constructed from durable steel with a black powder coat finish, this crossmember is designed to support TH400 and 2004R transmissions. A key design consideration for this crossmember is its fitment with 1984 and later GM G-Body models, which featured a frame change to accommodate the 2004R transmission. This often requires utilizing the rear set of frame holes on the driver's side. It is important to note that some specific vehicles may have unique requirements. For instance, certain 1983 Hurst Olds models with the 2004R transmission may not need the included GF-FE100 frame extension, while some 1984 El Caminos may require it due to retaining earlier frame designs. This crossmember is recommended for use with a polyurethane transmission mount, which is sold separately (GMTM). While this crossmember is a direct fit for many applications, it is always advised to verify year, make, model, and any specific notes before ordering to ensure proper compatibility.
