Transmission Crossmember

The G Force RCGNG-700BLK Next Gen crossmember is specifically engineered for 1978-1988 GM G-Body vehicles, including models like the Malibu, Monte Carlo, El Camino, Cutlass, Grand Prix, Regal, Century, LeMans, Caballero, and Bonneville. This crossmember is compatible with a wide range of transmissions, including the 700R4, 4L60, pre-1996 4L60E, T5, TKO-500, TKO-600, TKX, and 2WD-AR5. It also accommodates 1996 and later 4L60E and 4L65E transmissions for LS engine swaps. Newly designed and manufactured by G Force Performance, this crossmember is lighter than its predecessor, the RCG-700, contributing to improved vehicle performance. It features a durable black powder-coated finish and comes complete with all necessary mounting hardware for installation. G Force emphasizes the strength and reliability of their Next Gen line of transmission crossmembers. Installation of the RCGNG-700BLK may require specific considerations. A polyurethane transmission mount, such as the GMTM, is recommended and sold separately. In some instances, particularly when installing with a T5 transmission, a custom transmission mount may be needed to ensure proper driveline angle. Additionally, some installations might necessitate the removal of the catalytic converter heat shield from the passenger side floor pan. It's noted that G-Body chassis can be prone to body bushing compression, which might require replacing bushings or gently lifting the floor pan to create sufficient clearance. G Force recommends specific Boss Hog Torque Converters for this application.
