The G Force RCF2L-4L80 transmission crossmember is engineered for compatibility with 1975-1981 F-Body and 1975-1979 X-Body GM models, specifically supporting the 4L80 and 4L80E transmissions. This direct-fit component features a durable black powder-coated finish and comes complete with all necessary mounting hardware for installation. Installation of this crossmember requires attention to specific frame measurements. For 1975-1981 frames, the distance between the mounting holes must be 31-3/4 inches. It is crucial to measure your frame before ordering to ensure proper fitment. G Force recommends using a polyurethane transmission mount, such as their GMTM, which is sold separately. Further installation details indicate that the crossmember should be installed with the G Force label facing the rear of the vehicle. A key identifying feature is the 1/2-inch drain slot on the center tube, located on the bottom and passenger side near the weldment. To use the included 7/16-inch hardware, the frame rail holes will need to be enlarged to 1/2 inch with a drill. Alternatively, using the stock 3/8-inch hardware is possible but Grade #8 fasteners are strongly recommended for compensation.
