The GForce RCF2E-400 is a robust transmission crossmember engineered for 1970-1974 F-Body vehicles, including Camaro, Firebird, and Trans Am models. This crossmember is specifically designed to accommodate TH400 Short Tail, TH375, and 2004R transmissions, providing a direct fit for these applications. Constructed with durability in mind, the RCF2E-400 features a black powder-coated finish for enhanced corrosion resistance. The frame mounting holes are spaced 30-1/2 inches apart on 1970-1974 F-Body frames, and it is crucial to measure your frame to ensure proper selection. Mounting hardware is included for a straightforward installation process. Installation guidance suggests that the G Force label should face the rear of the vehicle, and the center tube features a 1/2-inch drain slot positioned at the bottom and passenger side. The exhaust clearance humps should be oriented with the closed side up and the open side down. For optimal performance and longevity, a polyurethane transmission mount, such as the G Force GMTM, is recommended and available separately. Additionally, be aware that using the provided 7/16-inch hardware requires enlarging the frame rail holes to 1/2 inch with a drill. If using the stock 3/8-inch hardware, new Grade #8 fasteners are strongly advised.
