Transmission Crossmember for 6L80E/6L90E

The GForce RCAEC1-6L80 transmission crossmember is engineered for 1964-1967 GM A-Body convertibles and boxed frames, providing a direct fit for 6L80E and 6L90E slip yoke transmissions. This crossmember is constructed with a durable black powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance and includes all mounting hardware for a complete installation. For optimal fitment with these specific transmissions, the GF-GMATM Transmission Mount is integrated into the design. Installation requires attention to the frame mounting holes, which should measure 43-1/4" apart on 1964-1967 convertibles or boxed frames. Users are advised to measure their frame before ordering to ensure proper selection. The crossmember bolts directly to the frame rails using factory holes. If using the provided 7/16" hardware, it will be necessary to enlarge the frame holes to 1/2". Alternatively, using stock 3/8" hardware is possible, but the use of new Grade #8 fasteners is strongly recommended for adequate strength. Aluminum spacers are included to allow for customization of the transmission mount height, to be positioned between the crossmember and the GM three-hole transmission mount. Longer bolts are recommended to ensure full engagement with the transmission mount. The exact spacer requirement may vary depending on the specific application. This crossmember is designed with the transmission mounting tabs positioned towards the front of the car, and the exhaust double humps are located on the top, adjacent to the floor pan. Its robust construction offers ample ground and exhaust clearance, making it ideal for high-power drivetrain swaps.
