The GForce RCAEC1 transmission crossmember is specifically designed for 1964-1967 GM A-Body convertible or boxed frame vehicles. It facilitates the installation of 6L80E and 6L90E slip yoke transmissions, ensuring a proper fit with the included GF-GMATM Transmission Mount. This crossmember is constructed with durability and strength in mind, featuring a black powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance. Aluminum spacers are provided to customize transmission mount height, and longer bolts may be needed for full engagement. Installation involves bolting directly to the frame rails using factory holes. For certain applications, you may need to enlarge the frame rail holes to 1/2" for the provided 7/16" hardware, or use new Grade #8 fasteners if retaining the stock 3/8" hardware. The product measures 43-1/4" between the frame mounting holes for 1964-1967 convertibles or boxed frames, and users are advised to measure their frame before ordering to ensure proper selection. The GForce RCAEC1 fits a wide range of GM A-Body models including Malibu, El Camino, Chevelle, Skylark, Cutlass, Tempest, GTO, and LeMans. It is designed to accommodate transmissions like the 6L80E and 6L90E, and user reviews indicate it provides excellent ground and exhaust clearance, even with high-power LS-based drivetrains.
