Transmission Crossmember for Gen3 Hemi Swap

The US Car USCAM2044 transmission crossmember is engineered to facilitate the installation of a Tremec T56 Magnum transmission into 1970-1974 Dodge/Plymouth Mopar E Body vehicles, specifically when performing a Gen3 Hemi engine swap. This component replaces the factory transmission crossmember mount, offering increased height and width to accommodate the transmission. It is constructed from robust 3/16 thick steel with a fully boxed section, designed to maintain structural integrity after the removal of the original crossmember. Installation of this crossmember requires additional fabrication and welding. Modifications may be necessary, including cutting the factory crossmember for clearance of the transmission tail-shaft and speedometer or VSS cable/sensor. Substantial modification to the factory floor is also expected, and the use of the USCT Transmission Tunnel Perimeter Frame is recommended for this process. The crossmember features a tab designed to accept a common GM 2-bolt style mount transmission insulator. While the crossmember itself and Grade 8 mounting hardware with instructions are included, the GM style insulator (#10473052) is sold separately but is readily available. The components are factory jig-welded for a precise fit, ready for installation with the understanding that significant fabrication and welding are prerequisites for successfully installing the transmission.
