Transmission Crossmember for GM A-Body

The GForce RCAL-8L90 is a transmission crossmember specifically engineered for 1973-1977 GM A-Body hardtop vehicles, including models like Regal, LeMans, Chevelle, Cutlass, El Camino, Malibu, Monte Carlo, Century, Grand Prix, Grand Am, GTO, Vista Cruiser, Laguna, and Sprint. This crossmember is designed to accommodate higher-torque modern transmissions such as the 8L90E (slip yoke), 10L80E, and 10L90E. To ensure a proper fit, the GF-GMATM Transmission Mount and the GF-8L90-A transmission mount adapter are included, which are essential for the 8L90e and 10L90e tailshaft housings. The product features a durable black powder-coated finish and comes with all necessary mounting hardware. When installing on 1973-1977 hardtop frames, the distance between the crossmember frame mounting holes is 51-1/8 inches. It is crucial to measure your specific frame before ordering to guarantee correct fitment. The crossmember is installed with the G Force label facing the rear of the vehicle, and a key identifying feature is the 1/2″ drain slot on the bottom and passenger side of the center tube. The exhaust clearance humps should be positioned on the top, open on the bottom. Installation requires attention to detail. To use the provided 7/16″ hardware, you may need to enlarge the frame rail holes to 1/2″. If using stock 3/8″ hardware, using new Grade #8 fasteners is strongly recommended for compensation. Please note that this crossmember will not fit 1973-1975 El Camino, Sprint, or Laguna models with narrow boxed frame rails.
