Transmission Crossmember for TH400 2004R

The GForce RCAEC1-400 transmission crossmember is specifically engineered for 1964-1967 GM A-Body vehicles with convertible or boxed frames. It is designed to accommodate TH400 and 2004R transmissions, offering a robust solution for transmission support and driveline alignment. Constructed with a durable black powder-coated finish, this crossmember includes all necessary mounting hardware for a straightforward installation. The design incorporates a double hump to provide ample clearance for exhaust headers and tailpipes, preventing them from dragging or hanging too low. Aluminum spacers are included to allow for customization of transmission mount height, and longer bolts ensure full engagement with the transmission mount. Some applications may not require spacers. Installation requires direct mounting to the frame rails using factory holes. For certain vehicles, it may be necessary to enlarge the frame rail holes to 1/2″ to accommodate the provided 7/16″ hardware. If using stock 3/8″ hardware, it is strongly recommended to use new Grade #8 fasteners for compensation. The crossmember is installed with the GForce label facing the rear of the vehicle. For optimal performance and longevity, a polyurethane transmission mount is recommended and sold separately. Fitment is critical for this component. It is compatible with a wide range of GM A-Body models including Grand Prix, GTO, LeMans, Tempest, GS, Skylark, 442, Cutlass, F85, Chevelle, El Camino, Malibu, Monte Carlo, Special, Sport Wagon, and Vista Cruiser, specifically for the 1964-1967 model years. It is important to note that this crossmember does not fit coupe, sedan, or 4-door models. Buyers should measure the distance between the crossmember frame mounting holes, which should be 43-1/4" for 1964-1967 convertibles or boxed frames, before ordering.
