The Tremec TKX is an all-new 5-speed, single overdrive manual transmission designed specifically for the aftermarket. It features a 600 lb-ft torque capacity and an 8,000 RPM engine speed capability (with shifts at 7,500 RPMs). This transmission is available in multiple gear ratio configurations and offers three shifter locations for versatile applications. Its compact design typically allows for clearance in most transmission tunnels without floor modifications. Constructed with a three-piece aluminum housing for increased case strength and structural stiffness, it also includes gaskets at all flanges to prevent fluid leaks. It provides superior shift-ability through multi-cone synchronizers and minimizes NVH through an optimized gear layout. All gears are supported by caged needle bearings and made from ASTM 4615 steel for increased torque capacity. The unit is equipped with a high-performance short-throw billet aluminum shifter, an internal three-rail shift system, and wide gear width for enhanced gear life. It features a 10-spline input shaft and a 31-spline output shaft, and built-in features include a reverse light switch and a cruise control safety switch. It offers separate GM and Ford case patterns and input configurations, as well as integrated GM and Ford transmission mount patterns.
