The Hayden LPD47391 is an extreme performance transmission oil cooler engineered to manage heat effectively in demanding automotive applications. Constructed from durable, brazed aluminum, this cooler incorporates advanced low-pressure drop technology to ensure optimal fluid flow while maximizing heat transfer. With a substantial BTU rating of 45,000, this cooler is capable of handling heavy loads and high operating temperatures, making it suitable for trucks and heavy-duty vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of up to 40,000 pounds. The cooler features 13 plates and has a cooling fin area measuring 8.5 x 22 x 1.25 inches, providing ample surface area for efficient cooling. This unit is noted as a direct replacement for the discontinued Tru-Cool 40K (LPD47391). It includes a basic installation kit with mounting brackets and barbed fittings. However, the included rubber hose and clamps are not recommended for long-term use, and it is advised to pair this cooler with a dedicated Tru-Cool 40k Line Kit for enhanced safety and more secure connections. For specific installations on 1988-1998 GMT400 trucks, a Notched Hood Latch Bracket may be necessary to allow for proper cooler mounting behind the grill.
