The James Barone Racing (JBR) Transmission Side Motor Mount is engineered as a direct replacement and performance upgrade for the 2007-2009 Mazdaspeed 3. This mount features a unique vertically oriented design, distinguishing it from other aftermarket options. The OEM cast aluminum transmission perch is replaced with a robust construction comprising 1/4″ plate steel and a 2″ solid steel stand-off. The primary mount components are precision TIG welded from CNC-formed steel and utilize 4130 sleeves to house the polyurethane bushings. The mount is finished with a durable powder coating to resist corrosion. Available in three durometer options: 70A (Street - Red), 80A (Street/Track - Black), and 88A (Track/Strip - Black). The 70A and 80A versions incorporate a larger, nearly 3″ diameter bushing with a proprietary polyurethane formula, balancing performance with comfort. The 88A durometer mount uses a smaller 1.5″ diameter bushing, offering minimal deflection for maximum performance, ideal for extreme conditions. Installation is a direct bolt-on process, and all necessary hardware is included. According to JBR, this mount, when combined with compatible rear and passenger side motor mounts, effectively eliminates wheel hop and torque steer, addressing common issues plaguing the Mazdaspeed 3.
