The Ford Performance TCET5008 is a TREMEC TKO 600 5-speed manual transmission engineered for high torque motors, suitable for both street and performance racing applications. This transmission is a significant upgrade from earlier models, offering increased robustness, flexibility, and versatility. Key features include a higher center distance for larger gear sizes and enhanced torque capacity, with all gears and shafts constructed from special grade steel (ASTM 4615). It utilizes tapered roller bearings on all shafts for improved performance and reduced noise. The transmission is equipped with a high-performance short-throw billet aluminum shifter that isolates road noise and provides crisp shifts. It also includes a neutral safety switch and back-up light sensor. The TCET5008 offers versatile application possibilities with eight shifter locations, dual electronic and mechanical speedometer pick-ups, and three unique cross member-mounting configurations. It is available with different input shafts and overdrive ratios, including a .64 5th gear ratio that helps reduce engine RPM for a more enjoyable driving experience and improved fuel efficiency. This specific model, TCET5008, is specifically designed for Ford applications and has a 5th gear ratio of 0.64.
