The Ford Performance Parts TREMEC TKX-600 is a 5-speed manual transmission engineered to deliver superior performance and durability for muscle cars, trucks, and custom projects. This transmission boasts a robust build, capable of handling up to 600 lb.-ft. of torque. It features hybrid carbon/bronze synchronizers for improved, smoother shifting and is rated for high-revving shifts up to 7,500 rpm. The TKX-600 also benefits from a reduced overall size and a lighter weight of 99 lbs, making it an ideal upgrade for various builds. Its design incorporates caged needle bearings for enhanced durability and a 1.125-inch input shaft with 26 splines. This TREMEC HD transmission is noted as being the same unit used in the 1995 Mustang Cobra 'R' models equipped with the 351 5.8L engines, indicating its pedigree and suitability for performance applications. The transmission requires 2.7 quarts of fluid for operation.
