Triple Disc Torque Converter

The Goerend Triple Disc Torque Converter is engineered to overcome the inherent weaknesses of the stock Ford 5R110W torque converter, which often suffers from breakage and failure due to thinner steel impeller and turbine components and a lack of furnace brazing. Goerend utilizes the stronger, furnace-brazed turbine and impeller from the Allison 1000 to create a significantly more robust converter for the 5R110W. Manufactured in-house, this torque converter boasts a billet steel cover and a billet steel piston with a complete damper assembly to insulate driveline shock and extend converter and transmission life. It features a dual Torrington bearing stator design with a lugged stator race to prevent freewheeling and maintain torque multiplication. The patented internal design ensures reliable lock-up based on computer and valve body signals, eliminating the need for throttle feathering. Construction highlights include proprietary high-performance multi-disc lock-up clutches, a TIG-welded, furnace-brazed, and silicon bronze reinforced turbine, and blueprinted runout tolerances below 0.005 inches. The unit is fully pressurized, leak tested, and computer-balanced for optimal performance. The torque converter includes a 4140 hardened turbine hub and a 4140 flanged impeller hub for enhanced durability. A 5-year warranty is provided, covering manufacturing defects within the torque converter itself. Exclusions include outside influences, OEM stators, and consequential damages such as loss of time, use, towing, installation, freight, or per diem. The warranty is transferable with an invoice provided to Goerend and is only valid through Goerend.
