The JBR TRU-3.5 Wide Path Full Silicone Intake System is engineered for 2007-2009 Mazdaspeed 3 vehicles, providing a true 3.5-inch diameter from the MAF housing directly to the turbo transition. Its construction utilizes thick, 5-ply, wire-reinforced, high-temperature silicone, which is exceptionally effective at insulating intake air from extreme engine temperatures, leading to lower boost air temperatures and enhanced horsepower gains compared to aluminum intakes. The billet aluminum MAF housing is machined from 6061-T6 to precise tolerances and features an integrated air straightener, ensuring accurate signals to the MAF sensor without reducing the intake's inner diameter. This lightweight housing (9.8oz) also contributes to reduced heat soak and quicker heat dissipation, further lowering intake temperatures and maximizing power output. The system is finished with an anodized coating for a durable, corrosion-resistant surface. Included is a 3.75-inch JBR Dry-Flow air filter, capable of flowing 200% more air than the factory filter while providing exceptional engine protection. Its depth-loading capability captures fine particles down to 0.1 micron, and its three-dimensional synthetic filtering medium is washable and oil-free for years of service. This intake system is a simple bolt-on application and is compatible with the stock battery box. However, it requires ECU relocation or the JBR Small Battery Box. It utilizes the stock mounting location for the OEM Turbo, though this may vary with aftermarket GT Turbos.
