The Kloc Fabrication Tru-Cool MAX 40,000 GVW transmission cooler serves as a direct aftermarket replacement for the discontinued OEM Tru-Cool 40K (LPD47391). Sourced from Capital Core Transmissions, a registered distributor for Dana-Spicer and Tru-Cool Thermal Products, this cooler maintains equivalent quality and performance ratings to the original unit. Key specifications for this transmission cooler include a 40,000 lbs GVW rating and a 45,000 BTU rating. It features a compact size of 8.5" x 22.7" x 1.25" with 13 plates for efficient heat dissipation. The cooler includes a basic installation kit, comprising mounting brackets, barbed fittings, and a section of rubber hose with clamps for adapting to existing hard lines. However, the use of rubber hose for adapting hard lines is not recommended for optimal performance and safety. For enhanced reliability and more secure connections, Kloc Fabrication recommends pairing this cooler with their Tru-Cool 40k Line Kits. Additionally, a specific mounting solution is available for 1988-1998 GMT400 trucks: a Notched Hood Latch Bracket allows for cooler installation behind the grill. Kloc Fabrication packages these coolers securely for transit, with each unit inspected prior to shipment.
