True Dual Rate 3.5-Inch Lift Kit

The Metalcloak True Dual Rate lift kit is an entry-level suspension system engineered to provide a 3.5-inch lift for the Jeep JL Wrangler, offering enhanced off-road performance and clearance for larger tires. The kit utilizes proprietary True Dual Rate coils and adjustable height bump stops, allowing users to tailor their suspension travel to specific tire sizes without needing to remove the coils. The system components include high tensile chrome steel coils, 4130 solid chromoly track bars, and control arms made from 1.5-inch .187 DOM steel tubing. Installation of this kit is rated as a moderate task taking approximately 6 to 8 hours. Due to the significant increase in articulation provided by this long-travel system, an aftermarket driveshaft is highly recommended, as factory driveshafts will contact OEM components and wear prematurely. Additionally, Metalcloak explicitly requires a professional suspension alignment immediately following installation to ensure proper vehicle geometry. Compatibility constraints are critical: stock wheel backspacing is not compatible with the Diesel JL Wrangler, and correct wheel backspacing is mandatory for use with the large-bodied 2.5-inch diameter RockSport shock options. Quick disconnects are not compatible with Rubicon Edition sway bars due to differing bolt sizes; therefore, specific hardware is required based on the vehicle's sway bar configuration. The manufacturer also notes that powder coating the True Dual Rate coils is not recommended.
