True Roller Timing Set w/ Billet Crank Sprocket

The Cloyes 9-3100 is a high-performance true roller timing set engineered for 1955-1984 265-400 cubic inch Small Block Chevy V8 engines. This set includes a durable double roller timing chain and precisely matched sprockets, heat-treated for enhanced longevity. The billet crankshaft sprocket features three keyways, offering ±4 degrees of camshaft timing adjustability to fine-tune your engine's performance. The true roller design utilizes oversized 0.250" diameter rollers that smoothly engage sprocket teeth, reducing friction and wear compared to conventional timing chains. Installation requires specific tools and supplies, including a 1/4″ hex bit socket or wrench, torque wrench, hammer, a sleeve for crankshaft sprocket installation, and optionally a degree wheel. Assembly lube or camshaft lube and thread locking compound are also recommended. It is critical to ensure all engine components are thoroughly cleaned before installation, as debris can significantly shorten the life of the timing set and bearings. A cam button and Cloyes Quick Button® timing cover are optional but recommended accessories. Important compatibility note: This Cloyes timing set will not fit factory roller camshafts. Ensure proper engine preparation and lubrication during installation to maximize the lifespan of the timing set.
