Truetrac Limited Slip Differential

Under typical driving conditions, it functions identically to an open differential, ensuring smooth and unobtrusive operation. However, when one wheel encounters a loss of traction, such as on slippery surfaces or uneven terrain, the differential's internal helical gears engage. This mechanism automatically transfers torque to the wheel that maintains traction, helping the vehicle maintain forward momentum. Once the low-traction situation is resolved, the Truetrac seamlessly reverts to its open differential mode. Its smooth and automatic engagement makes it suitable for a wide variety of vehicles. The Truetrac is compatible with Ford 9.75-inch semi-float rear axles and features 34 spline axles with a 1.37-inch diameter and supports all gear ratios. Recommended lubrication for the Eaton Detroit Truetrac is a quality petroleum GL5 rated (mineral) based oil. Synthetic oils can also be used according to axle manufacturer recommendations, but friction modifiers should be avoided as they can reduce performance.
